The book’s introduction details the importance of legacy and reputation for media, artists, scholars, educational institutions, businesses, religious institutions, judges and, ultimately, everyone. We all have a stake in avoiding regrettable policies and practices, particularly in an electronic age with a preservable record of our opinions. Given the importance of legacy, the book aims to identify a moral compass, steeped in history, that can guide us toward an advanced humanity that avoids moral blind spots.
