This chapter aims to reveal the differences between conceptual transmission and technical transmission. Conceptual transmission is shown to be more concerned with Kabbalistic concepts that are passed along by the masters. Technical transmission, on the other hand, focuses more on methods than with content as the subject matter of transmission. This chapter also looks at a “Protestant” approach that offers interpretation using exegetical techniques.Less
