This chapter presents a further analysis of the manuscript known as BN Copte 68, a trilingual (Coptic-Greek-Arabic) paper codex written in the 15th to 16th centuries and containing instructions for worshipers and liturgical readings. It examines a specific rite that stays very close to the main monastery and church, asking whether it directs the worshipers around the entire domain of Apa Shenoute or confines them to the small area around the main monastery. It also considers the sermon of Shenoute, Good is the Time for Launching a Boat to Sail, which was read during the rite, and whether it helps us understand the rite.Less
