This chapter gives emphasis on four major points. Firstly, the groups and agencies behind the arrangement of specific measures regarding the Caribbean region's security. Secondly, the different organizations that helps enhance the state of security in the area. Thirdly, the culmination of various security measures from various organizations which gives rise to a ‘culture of security’. Lastly, the state of security in the Caribbean in relation to the more modernized approach elsewhere. This chapter also examines the influence and possible effects that policing the region may attain. Various topics on power and sovereignty, investigations and law enforcement are also reviewed in the later part of the chapter.Less
