This chapter considers Buddhism within the context of its location in Richmond, Virginia. It turns to the question of regional Buddhism and uses Ekoji as a case study for regionalism. In particular, it investigates how and why Ekoji's location in the American south might shed light on the various phenomena one finds at the temple and among the members of the five groups.
