This chapter examines the reactions of three French authors to the fragmentation or the dépassement of the subject as it turns into the post-human: Maurice G. Dantec, Fabrice Neaud, and Nicolas Jones-Gorlin. It analyses Dantec's apocalyptic, paranoid vision of the present and the near future whereby a concept of networks have replaced the individual liberty of the subject. These networks control, manipulate, and otherwise punish any individual who seeks to express his or her independence. The chapter also considers Neaud's reaction to what he perceives as a kind of homonormativity through fragmentations and distortions of the subject position. Neaud expresses this reaction most clearly in the third volume of his graphic novel. Finally, the chapter discusses Jones-Gorlin's 2002 novel, Rose Bonbon and its exploration of the forbidden sexuality of pedophilia.Less
