This chapter highlights the importance of methodology in order to explain the religious experience the same way with the philosophy of mind. It focuses on the works of Daniel Dennett such as ‘Breaking the Spell; Religion as a Natural Phenomenon’, which has his own approach to such religious experiences by asking who benefits from them or reports of them. Dennett contends that truly to explain intentionality and consciousness in humans and other animals, someone needs to account for them in non-intentional and non-conscious terms.Less
