This chapter describes analytical and numerical methods for analyzing polymer field theory models beyond the mean-field approximation. Analytical treatments of field fluctuations at the Gaussian level are described including an introduction to renormalization techniques. Extensive coverage is given to approaches and numerical methods for conducting field theoretic polymer simulations. Monte Carlo and complex Langevin simulations are discussed in considerable detail. Lattice cutoff and finite size effects are briefly introduced, along with numerical renormalization group. The chapter ends with a perspective on emerging themes in field theoretic simulations and the choice between particle and field based simulations.Less
