The case studies examine the following topics: the international scope of Bordeaux port in relation to the economic cycles of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; the Lancashire Cotton Lobby and the making of the Manchester Ship Canal from 1893 to the Interwar Period; Mormugao Port and the gateway to Goa; the competition between the ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam; the environmental impact of ports from an Australian perspective; and a survey of the operations of the port of Kaohsiung.Less
