This chapter deals with the neurological aspect of the agentic self. It states that the agentic self needs to control immediate impulses to achieve better results and fulfil future objectives, and to be aware of the neurological aspect of all associated processes involved in performing agentic functions. The agentic self needs to have absolute neural control over all those regions of the brain that govern immediate impulses and affect rational abilities involved in performing agentic functions. It adopts a preventive strategy when it is unable to distinguish different cognitive capabilities, leading to the onset of Parkinson’s disease (PD). This aspect of the self progressively degenerates and aggravates the condition of the patient afflicted with PD.Less
