This chapter describes how René Guénoun defended the Arabs from the accusations of his neighbors following the bombing of their apartment. After the bombing, the author's neighbors gathered around to talk about the explosion, and accused the Arabs of the explosion. René, a supporter of Organisation armée secrète (OAS) then howled to his neighbor, furiously saying obscene insults and curses to them. René said that the Arabs will win, just as the French and the Russians annihilated Hitler. He added that Algeria will grind his neighbors, and the Arabs will soon tear them to bits, blowing them to smithereens.
