This chapter draws together the broad conclusions as to the indicators that policy makers need, in order to monitor and benchmark patterns of social cohesion and inclusion in the new economy. It takes stock of the opportunities and barriers to social inclusion arising from the new technologies, the scope for policies to maximise participation, and the indicators by means of which such efforts might be benchmarked.
