This chapter discusses the knowledge and information gathered from the last three chapters. It aims to develop a wider understanding of children's and young people's lives, through a comparative analysis of large-scale survey data. The chapter is based on an analysis of data taken from the 1997 British Household Panel Youth Survey (BHPYS), which would allow one to explore the experiences of children and their perceptions of school life.

Keywords:   children, young people, school life, BHPYS, experiences of children, perceptions of school
