This chapter analyses the variation in employment and private pension scheme membership according to gender and specific ethnic group. The analysis uses data from the Family Resources Survey. The chapter aims to shed more light on the pension prospects of men and women from minority ethnic groups and how they are affected by discrimination and disadvantage in the labour market. It also examines the different cultural norms that concern women's employment.
