In the context of the UK, this chapter examines research data that examines Christian-faith practices in socio-economically deprived areas. An example is choosing to live among the excluded rather than a brief stay as a volunteer. Three case studies are used to illustrate the motivational distinctiveness of certain discourses that separate FBOs from non-faith-based NGOs.
