This chapter scrutinizes the frictions, affects, denials and emotions that arise when privileged positions, cis-normativity and racialising norms reproduced by the gender equality norm and certain feminist practices, are challenged by political groups such as Muslim feminists, antiracists, and transgender activists. The challenge in each case concerns the reiteration of exclusionary norms. Those challenging these norms are an important aspect of the current Swedish political landscape around gender, sexuality and antiracist struggles. The chapter argues for the need to re-think political engagement, and discusses the failures of mainstream feminists to recognize oppressive practices within their own ranks.
