In the introduction, the practitioners, methods, audiences, and influence of Israeli policy analysis are discussed. Although Israeli policy analysis practitioners have benefited considerably from the example set by modern policy analysis trailblazers, especially in the United States, Israel’s unique policy environment entails that its policy analysis evolutionary course markedly differs from that of its role models.
